I can’t quite believe how fast has time flown by and how much has this blog grown. As you can tell from the title of this blog post, today marks the one year anniversary of Saudade. Yes, one WHOLE year!

*Sheesh!!*

Although, I had never expected this to happen, it did! And therefore it is with great honour and gratitude, that I would like to thank each and every one of you who has ever read my blog and helped it grow, despite my sluggish graph up there!

*sighs* 😅

Thank you so so so much!

I can firmly state that if it weren’t for a plethora of amazing bloggers and readers (like you, the one reading this right now); their support, encouraging words, and assistance, Saudade would not have been what it is today. And to celebrate this day, I wanted share with you all a little background of this blog and some random thoughts I’ve had so far! 💙

A Journey of ups and Downs

Too often we stand in our own way, by learning to exist rather than live. We care too much about what others will think, that we are sometimes too afraid to follow our own dreams.

It goes without saying for the ones who know me, that how very fond of writing I have always been. However, it was actually while traversing through one of the worst phases of my life that I truly realised it’s importance to me.

Writing has not only helped me vent my thoughts out but has also made me believe in myself. It has helped me realise that sometimes you don’t actually need people, to help heal your wounds but peace, peace within your own self…and I, would be lying if I said it wasn’t then that the idea of starting a blog first hit me.

Of course, it wasn’t as easy as I had thought it to be. Where on one hand I had people in my life who supported my ideas and believed in me enough to push me to go and follow my dreams, I also had people who came up with every possible reason they could, to tell me why I cannot do this.

However, in the end, I decided not to let these voices stand between me and my dreams and to only allow positivity and constructive criticism seep in.

So, as the time passed, and the reasons of why I should start a blog started stacking up against the reasons of why I shouldn’t, I ran out of legitimate excuses of not beginning one. I made it my goal to embark on this journey, push all “what ifs” out and press the ‘publish’ button to my first blog post without any self doubt.

Saudade, was created with the idea of spreading as much positivity as possible in the community, by first, putting my strenuous thoughts at hold and then by connecting with as many people like me as possible, by assuring them how absolutely okay it was, to feel what they do.

(Things pass and this shall too.)

Other little thoughts

Although I know I never posted as much as you guys, I am glad I could still receive a handsome amount of viewers and a bunch of extremely supportive followers. Thank you all for sticking and turning Saudade into my very own place haven on Web!

I’m glad I bit the bullet and just did what I wanted to do. To be a part of a community that builds each other up with words of support and encouragement is just beyond inspirational. Thank you so much for supporting my vision and visiting my blog every now and then.

I can’t wait to see what this next year of blogging holds! I hope you guys keep reading the titbits I post in here!!! :”)

Okayyy now…I am getting a little emotional…I’ll probably just go to a corner and cry my heart out for now. Hehehehe. 😅
